In healthy people, their pancreas produces insulin, a hormone whose function is to bring sugar or glucose into your cells and turn it into energy. People with diabetes cannot do this because either they cannot produce insulin or their bodies become resistant to insulin.
People with insulin resistance will not be able to use insulin as well as healthy people.
